BioMedic Micropeels & Products
BioMedic – LaRoche Posay Skin Care is a complete skin care program for men and women that combines in-office exfoliation treatments with home care products. BioMedic products improve the appearance of aging skin, sun damage, uneven pigmentation and acne. They provide clear, smooth skin with an even tone and uniform color, and can help reduce the probability of developing pre-cancerous lesions. First, you will have a skin evaluation to determine your skin type and which products are right for you. Treatments are most effective when given once or twice a month. Results should be visible after the first treatment. Women who are pregnant or lactating and people who are taking Accutane® or have a history of cold sores should not use BioMedic products.
BOTOX®
BOTOX® Cosmetic, or botulinum toxin type A, is a protein commonly used to non-surgically reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth crow's feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck. The injections work by blocking nerve impulses, thus weakening muscles to relax wrinkles and give the skin a rejuvenated look. BOTOX® Cosmetic may also be useful for migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and eye and neck muscle spasms. The procedure is quick and usually performed in an examination room.
Collagen Replacement Therapy

Collagen is a naturally occurring protein found in the second layer of skin (the dermis) which “plumps up” the skin, joints, bones and ligaments. Injections counteract the effects of gravity, sun exposure and years of facial muscle movement (smiling, chewing and squinting, which produce lines and creases) by filling out sunken areas and smoothing lines for a temporarily rejuvenated look. Results may begin to fade in a few months or may last indefinitely, depending on the patient’s age, genetic background, skin quality, lifestyle and body site. Because of this, and because injections cannot improve severe wrinkles or deep folds, the procedure is often combined with facial resurfacing or plastic surgery (i.e. browlift or facelift) for more a satisfying and longer-lasting outcome.
Chemical Peel
Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. There are three types of chemical peels, ranging from mild to strong – alphahydroxy acids (AHAs), tricholoroacetic acid (TCA) and phenol – and formula strengths are tailored to each patient. Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look. They may be covered by insurance if they are performed for medical rather than cosmetic reasons.
Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion reduces the appearance of mild to moderate sun damage, scarring, wrinkles and other superficial skin problems by firing a gentle stream of tiny particles to exfoliate (abrade) the outer layer of skin and provide a fresh, glowing, younger appearance. The particles scrape away the surface layer of aging or damaged skin, which is then brushed off with the microdermabrasion vacuum tool, with no need for anesthesia. Only a small amount of skin is removed, so damaged areas on sensitive areas such as the face, chest, neck, arms and hands can be treated. Results are comparable to a light chemical peel and should be immediately visible, although multiple treatments are usually required for full effect. The procedure is particularly helpful for Asian and dark-skinned patients who risk skin discoloration with other treatment options. Microdermabrasion is often performed in conjunction with other skin renewal procedures, such as laser treatment and chemical peels.
Spider Vein Treatment
Sclerotherapy is a safe and effective treatment that involves tiny injections of saline and dextrose solution to seal shut the unsighly veins without compromising your circulation. Symptomatic varicose veins are covered by OHIP. Ambulatory phiebectomy is a mini stripping done through small punctures for larger varicose veins. This procedure requires no stitches and leaves no scarring.
